5: Denis Lortie, caporal / military supply technician opened fire with a sub-machine gun in the Qc National Assembly, killing 3 and wounding 13; he had earlier fired at tourists at la Citadelle, but hit no one.

7: The man denounced René Lévesque’s government for doing “ much wrong to the French language people of Québec and Canada”.   While he hoped to attack legislators (en entrant il crie, «où sont les députés, je veux les tuer» (ou à peu près), the Assembly was not in session, and so he attacked Assembly workers, civil servants, and tourists indiscriminately.

9: Avant de se rendre à l’Assemblée nationale, Lortie avait laissé un message enregistré sur cassette à la station de radio CJRP, expliquant qu’il voulait détruire le gouvernement, incluant René Lévesque, pour avoir causé du tort aux francophones du Québec et du Canada.

11: The man was found guilty in february 1985 on 3 counts of first-degree murder, and was sentenced to life imprisonment.  Maintenant en libération conditionnelle.
